When is the best time to see elephants in Tarangire?▾
The dry season (June to October) is peak elephant season in Tarangire. As water sources dry up across the region, elephants congregate in their thousands along the Tarangire River — up to 300+ in a single herd. This is one of Africa's greatest wildlife spectacles. The wet season (November–May) offers lush green scenery and great birdwatching.
Will I see the Big Five on this safari?▾
The Ngorongoro Crater has one of the highest Big Five densities in Africa. Lion, elephant, buffalo and black rhino are almost guaranteed. Leopard sightings are possible but less frequent.
