🌍 Northern Circuit

About This Destination

Lake Eyasi is a remote alkaline lake in the Rift Valley region of northern Tanzania. The lake and its surrounding areas are home to several unique ethnic groups and offer distinctive cultural and wildlife experiences.

The Hadzabe people, one of Africa’s last remaining hunter-gatherer societies, inhabit the areas around Lake Eyasi. Visits to Hadzabe communities provide insights into traditional hunting practices and bush survival skills dating back thousands of years.

The lake itself is a haven for birdwatchers, with abundant flamingos, eagles, and fish eagles. The surrounding savanna and acacia woodland support elephants, giraffes, zebras, and diverse antelope species.

Lake Eyasi offers a more authentic, less-touristed experience than other northern Tanzania destinations. The combination of cultural immersion and wildlife viewing creates unique safari memories.
