The park encompasses three distinct areas: the Ngurdoto Crater with its pristine crater lake, the Momella Lakes with their colored waters, and the towering Mount Meru rising 4,566 meters into the sky.
Wildlife in the park includes numerous colobus monkeys with their distinctive white and black fur, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and a variety of antelopes. Bird enthusiasts will delight in the 400+ bird species recorded in the park.
