The 7-day Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and rewarding ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It begins on the quiet western side of the mountain, passing through lush rainforest, wide moorlands, and dramatic alpine landscapes before joining the southern circuit.
This route is well known for its beautiful views, lower traffic at the start, and good acclimatization profile. Although it is challenging, it offers a strong balance of adventure, scenery, and summit success for well-prepared trekkers.
After registration at Londorossi Gate, you begin your trek through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp. This first day offers a quiet and scenic introduction to the Lemosho Route, with chances to spot birds and monkeys along the trail.

Today’s trek crosses the scenic Shira Plateau, one of the most beautiful high-altitude areas on Kilimanjaro. The gradual climb helps with acclimatization while offering impressive views of the mountain’s western slopes.
This is an important acclimatization day. You climb steadily to Lava Tower at high altitude, then descend to Barranco Camp for overnight. The “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to the elevation.

Trek to Barafu Camp and rest before your midnight summit attempt. In the early hours, climb to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and celebrate your achievement. Afterward, descend to Mweka Camp for your final overnight on the mountain.
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate and celebrate the successful completion of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
