Route Overview

The Rongai Route 7-Day is the only route approaching Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the Kenyan border. It is known for its remote wilderness, drier climate, and quieter trails compared to the southern routes.

This route is ideal during the rainy season as it receives less precipitation. Trekkers enjoy gradual ascents, open landscapes, and a true off-the-beaten-path experience. The trail joins the Marangu Route for descent via Mweka Gate, offering a varied trekking journey.

The 7-day itinerary provides good acclimatization, making it suitable for beginners and those seeking a less crowded Kilimanjaro climb.
